Boston Terrier Pug Mix

Profiling The Boston Terrier Pug Hybrid

The Boston Terrier Pug mix produces a very friendly dog, that ends up having fewer health problems than a purebred pug.

Both of these dog breeds, the Boston Terrier, and the Pug are compact dogs that are well proportioned.  Both friendly and eager to please their masters.

Not one Boston Terrier Pug mix is similar, so below is a summary of some characteristics of both breeds.  Your dog will fit somewhere in between these two standards:

Pugs:
Folded over ears
Long tail
Weight: 14 to 18 pounds
Colors: Fawn or Black.
Head: deep wrinkles

Boston Terrier:
Erect ears
Short tail
Weight:  15 and 25 pounds
Colors: white, black, brindle, grey, seal
Head:  no wrinkles
Height 15 to 17 inches

By reading the characteristics of these two dog breeds, you can see that your dog will likely be between 14 and 25 pounds as an adults.

Boston Terrier Pug mixes are not very common, but you may find one at a shelter or rescue.  Few breeders sell these hybrids, so they are hard to find.

One advantage that this dog has over the Pug, is that it might have less respiratory problems, although both the Boston Terrier and Pug are considered to be Brachycephalic breeds.
