Two Pug Colors: Fawn and Black

Officially Pugs are only available in fawn or black.  In fact any other color is considered a violation of the American Kennel Club breed standard.

Black Pugs are all black.

Fawn colored Pugs have a black face or “mask.”  They might also have a black tracing from their head towards their tail, which runs down the back.

Any other color, and the dog is unlikely a purebred Pug.  If you don’t care about the genetic background of your pug, then it is of no concern.

Whoever, if you are paying good money for a dog and want a registered dog, make sure your Pug is one of these two colors or you are just wasting your money.
