Tips To Keep Your Pug Healthy
Pug health should be your top concern. When you own a
pug you are responsible for trying to keep them healthy. So I
put together some health tips for pug owners.
7 Pug Health Tips
1. By far the number one pug health tip is to have
your dog spayed or neutered. There are hundreds of
thousands of dogs that are put to sleep each year because no
one wants them.
2. Pug obesity is a common health issue. Pugs
seem to be prone to obesity, so keeping them on a strict diet
of only two meals a day should help prevent this.
3. Clean their water bowl with hot water and soap a
couple of times a week. Most people neglect cleaning the
water bowl which develops a clear slim where bacteria love to
grow.
4. Regular visits to your veterinarian at least once a
year for younger pugs, but once they reach 7 years of age it is
best to take them at least twice a year to the veterinarian
office.
5. One way to extend your pug's healthy life is to
properly train them. Proper dog training can actually
help dogs leave longer richer lives. Properly trained
pugs are less likely to run out into the street in front of
cars and are less likely to have behavior problems.
6. Feed only a dry hard dog food. Dry dog food
helps to prevent tartar build up which is very common when dogs
are only fed wet food.
7. Keep the number of your vet handy at all times in case of
emergencies and also use this service when needed:
